A system was developed for transferring toxic substances and particularly radioactive materials into a glove box or similar cell. A transfer chamber is connected to the glove box and a closure selectively isolates the chamber from the glove box and/or the outer atmosphere. The transfer chamber is provided with an air bleed through the chamber into the glove box. The air bleed is associated with a nonreturn valve and adjusting means are provided outside the chamber to regulate the air bleed. (M.C.G.)
