ANALYSIS OF THE RESONANCES CAUSED BY "s" NEUTRONS IN TRANSMISSION EXPERIMENTS BY TIME-OF-FLIGHT (in French)

For the anslysis of resonances of s-wave neutrons, it is necessary to determine the parameters GAMMA (the total resonance length) and sigma /sub o/ (the maximum total cross section at right angles to the energy E/sub R/). These parameters can be determined by comparison of experimental and theoretical curves. Several methods developed for this purpose are briefly cited. Bollinger's (ANL- 5754) partial area method is extended by the calculation of the partial area A/ DELTA . The results are presented in the form of a curve lattice, of which an example is given.
