Journal Article · · Brit. J. Appl. Phys.
The Summer Conference of the Applied Spectroscopy Group of The Institute of Physics was held at the Windscale Club, Seascale, near the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority Works, on June 16 and l7, 1960. About fifty members of the group assembled at this conference; and the papers presented, together with the ensuing discussion, are summarized. Among the topics discussed were the Mossbauer effect, the chemical and isotopic analyses of radioactive materials by spectroscopic and radioactivation techniques, the use of spectroscopy in the determination of discharge temperatures, and the development of monitoring systems for beryllium determination.
