INTEGRAL EQUATIONS FOR THE $pi$$-$$pi$-SCATTERING AT LOW ENERGIES

The accuracy of the equations of Chew and Mandelstam on pi - pi scattering in the unphysical region is examined. A new set of equations is derived from the dispersion relation of fixed momentum transfer and the unitarity condition. The equations are quite different from the equations of Chew and Mandelstam with regard to the contributions from the unphysical region. (auth)
