ISOTOPIC SPIN CONSERVATION AND PION PRODUCTION, (SURVEY)

The results of several experiments carried out at the JINR synchrocyclotron pertaining to the hypothesis of isotopic spin conservation are discussed. The hypothesis is studied from two angles: (1) to what degree the law of isotopic spin conservation is carried out and whether or not it is a "good" quantum number and (2) what the difference is of interactions in various isotopic spin states.
