THE DETERMINATION OF CARBON IN ZIRCONIUM AND ITS ALLOYS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4093676
The sample to be analyzed is heated in an induction furnace. A stream of oxygen converts the carbon to carbon dioxide and the gas is absorbed by dilute sodium hydroxide. The change in conductance of the sodium hydroxide solu tion is related to the concentration of carbon by reference to a standard curve. (auth)
