A method of determining the mean energy of nonmonochromatic radiation by the number of pulses N per unit of time and total current I on the output side of the proportional detector is described. By taking the proportion I/N obtained with the aid of a scintillation counter, the mean energy of gamma radiation coming from different sources was determined. (auth)
