Light nondestructive testing methosa (visual, boroscopic, eddy current, dye penetrant, magnetic-particle, ultrasonic, radiographic, and hydrostatic) which can be employed to locate defects in tubing nondestructively are compared. Though eddy-current testing is considered to be the most versatile method in present use, no one test can give a complete answer by itself. Only the proper combination of tests will tell the whole story. (auth)
