A device was designed and an apparatus with 6 proportional counters filled with boron trifluoride was prepared to be used as a moderated neutron detector. Sb/sup 124/ is used as a gamma quarta source with a strength of 50 microcuries. The method of analysis consists of the relative measurements of the pulse counting rate obtained from the samples being studied and the corresponding standard samples, which are both irradiated with gamma quanta under similar conditions. The sensitivity threshold of the method amounts to 0.01% BeO in the case of a source activity of 50 microcuries and a sample weight of 100 gms. (OTS)
