TRANSVERSE MOMENTUM DISTRIBUTION OF PROTONS IN p-p ELASTIC SCATTERING

It is shown that previously determined p-p elastic scattering cross sections that range in energy from 10 to 30 Bev and momentum transfer squared from 3 to 25 (Bev/c)/sup 2/ can be fit by a single exponential in transverse momentum. This exponential is the same one that describes the transverse momentum distributions of mesons ( pi ) produced in nucleon-nucleon interactions. (C.E.S.)
