SOLAR FLARE COSMIC-RAY INCREASE OF MAY 4, 1960

Journal Article · · J. Geophys. Research
Observations of cosmic-ray intensity obtained with neutron monitors during the period 1000 to 1200 UT of May 4, 1960, are presented. This increase was caused by a solar flare of importance 2 in a region near the west limb of the sun. The intensity variations are compared with those associated with the event of February 23, 1956.
