Equilibrium pressure of gaseous titanium in the reaction TiC(s) = C(graphite) + Ti(g) was determined in the range of 2383 to 2593 deg K by means of graphite Knudsen cells. Results are expressed by log P/sub Ti/ (atm.) = -(30.830/ T) + 7.65 and the related thermodynamic properties of TiC are calculated. (auth)
