THE UNIVERSAL FERMI INTERACTION IN THE MUON CAPTURE

The angular asymmetry of neutrons from the capture of polarised mu mesons in complex nuclei is estimated, assuming the applicability of the Fermi gas model of the nucleus. It is shown that the four-fermion V --A interaction, together with the conserved current hypothesis, lead to considerable asymmetry. (auth)
