ness of Y/sup 90/ irradiation of the pituitary to eliminate its se cretory activity. Metyrapone is injected and urinary excretion of 17- hydroxycorticosteroids is measured. Nine out of l7 patients implanted with 9 mC Y/sup 90/ showed residual hypophyseal endocrine activity on the basis of this test. (BBB)
