LATITUDE DEPENDENCE OF NUCLEONIC INTENSITY DURING AUGUST 24-SEPTEMBER 20, 1957

Journal Article · · Indian Journal of Physics (India) Beginning in 1977 alternate issues designated as [Part] A or [Part] B Includes Proc. Indian Assoc. Cultiv. Sci.

For the period Aug. 24 to Sept. 20, 1957, in which a large Forbush type decrease occurred, the relative amplitude of the decrease in the cosmic nucleonic component intensity was computed for ten sea level stations. The resuits, plotted on an amplitude vs. latitude graph, show a minimum nonsymmetrical about the geomagnetic equator and no evidence of curve flattening at 82.9 deg N. (D.L.C.)
