NUCLEAR MODELS AND THE OSMIUM ISOTOPES. Technical Report 338

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4082326
The experimental energies of the ground state rotational bands in Os/sup 186/, Os/sup 188/, and Os/sup 190/ are compared with the predictions of the rotation-vibration (RV) model and the Davydov model with rotation-vibration interaction of the beta vibrations carefully considered. Advantages for the RV model are noted. Also, unprecedented excellent agreement between the experimental and theoretical values was achieved. (D.C.W.)
