HALF-LIFE OF THE 123.6-kev LEVEL OF LUTETIUM-173 (in French)

The half life of the 123.6-kev level of Lu/sup 173/ was measured using a NaI(Tl) crystal. The electronic apparatus for the measurement is described. A value of 77 plus or minus 5 mu sec was found for the half life. The conversion coefficient was calculated to be 0.145 plus or minus 0.02, which assures the El character of the transition. If the M2 mixture exists, it is less than 2%. (J.S.R.)
