THE FOKKER-PLANCK AND LANGEVIN EQUATIONS OF A NUCLEAR REACTOR

The space- and energy-independent Markovian random processes that occur in a nuclear reactor without feedback are treated as a birth, death, and immigration process, and the Fokker-Planck and Langevin equations are obtained. Ignoring delayed neutrons, the solutions to the FokkerPlanck equation are formulated for a reactor with or without an external neutron source. (auth)
