INVESTIGATION OF SUPERCONDUCTING TIN BY THE TUNNEL EFFECT (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Zh. Eksperim. i Teor. Fiz.

The gap width in the energy spectrum of electrons of superconducting tin is investigated by the tunnel effect method. Depending on the crystallographic orientation, the gap width changes between 2 DELTA /kT/sub c/ = 2.7 and 2 DELTA / kT/sub c/ = 4.3. The anisotropy of DELTA is of a complex nature. Along with large regions ( approximates 15 angular degrees) in which DELTA does not change by more than 2%, there are regions in which DELTA sharply varies as much as approximates 20% over an interval of approximates 5 deg . It is suggested that the anisotropy of this type may be due to the structure of the Fermi banda in tin. (auth)
