The results of the first year's effort to develop techniques and equipment for performing maintenance on the New Waste Calcining Facility (NWCF) are presented in this report. Modifications made to commercially available connectors are described, and test data from mockups using both the Bridge Crane and the PAR Manipulator systems of remote handling are discussed. The preliminary use of three-dimensional television as a remote maintenance concept is also discussed. (auth)
