Study of a high mass $delta$$sup ++$ state produced in association with the rho, $omega$, and K*(890) resonances

Data is presented from large statistics $pi$$sup +$p (7.1 GeV/c) and K$sup +$p (12.0 GeV/c) experiments which give strong evidence for production of a high mass $pi$$sup +$p state. Detailed properties of this resonance are presented, and its production mechanism compared with that of the corresponding $delta$(1238) reactions. (auth)
