RESEARCH ON OPTIMUM MACH NUMBER AT ENTRANCE TO MHD GENERATOR (in French)

Journal Article · · Rev. Inst. Franc. Petrole Ann. Combust. Liquides
OSTI ID:4075448

The search for greater efficiency in a M. H. D. (magnetohydrodynamic) project led to the consideration of an optimum income velocity for Mach number) for the conducting fluid at the entrance to the generator. The means of determining this velocity is explained, and numerical results are given for different gases. A perfect gas and a combustion-dissociated gas were considered. The respective results were compared. These results showed that the use of a partially dissociated gas brings about an increase in the optimum Mach number. (auth)
