Sentman's rotational nonequilibrium model of cw chemical laser has been used to examine the effect of line suppression and single line operation on laser performance. The results indicate that (1) even when lines containing upwards of 30% of the multiline power are suppressed, there will be only about a 10% decrease in the power produced, and (2) with proper line choice, better than 50% of the multiline power may be obtainable in the single line mode.
