In the connection with the present use of the SU/sub 3/ group for high symmetry schemes of strong interactions, the irreducible representations of the group are reviewed. The geometrical method of carton, which characterizes every irreducible representation by its weight diagram, is used. A simple formula is derived for the weight diagrams, permitting them to be drawn without any calculations. (auth)
