CYCLIC PRESSURE TESTS OF LARGE SIZE PRESSURE VESSELS. Progress Report No. 26, period covered December 15, 1960-January 15, 1961

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4069740
An investigation is being made of the plastic fatigue strength of large pressure vessels. The vessels under study have a 36-in. inside diameter, a 2-in. wall thickess, and contain nozzles of several designs and sizes. The overall program includes essentially identical pairs of full-size vessels fabricated from A-201, A-302, and T-1 steels. Fatigue cycling of the second A-201 vessel was completed, and the second A-302 vessel is being prepared for fatique cycling. Static testing of the first A-302 vessel is in progress. (W.I.H.)
