CURF1--A LEAST-SQUARES POLYNOMIAL FITTING PROGRAM FOR THE PHILCO-2000

CURF-1 determines the real coefficients of a polynomial which best fits a given set of data points in the sense of least squares. The program evaluates the polynomial at specified points and computes the deviation of the polynomial from the original points. CURF-1 computes the first derivative at each point, the standard deviation of the estimate, and the maximum absolute error. (auth)
