THERMAL AND RADIATION STABILITY OF THE ARGON CLATHRATE OF HYDROQUINONE

Journal Article · · Intern. J. Appl. Radiation Isotopes
Argon release from the dilute clathrate, containing 1.7 wt% argon, was studied at temperatures up to 100 deg C and at room temperature after irradiation. Above room temperature, release is rapid, confirming the low thermal stability of the clathrate. Radiation increases clathrate stability. After a dose of 1 x 10/ sup 7/ rad, no argon release was observed during 25 days at room temperature. (auth)
