A method using spherical scatterers was chosen for the measurement of the angular distributions of elastically scattered neutrons. The neutron source was a tritiumzirconium target irradiated by a beam of protons accelerated by an electrostatic generator (reaction T(p,n)He/sup 3/). To exclude the effect of inelastic scattering a threshold detector was used. Results are presented of measurements of angular distributions of elastically scattered neutrons with energy 0.65 Mev by atomic nuclei of Al, Ni, Zn, Zr, Ag, Sn, Te, Ba, Hg, and Pb in the range of angles from 30 to 140 deg . The integral sections of elastic and inelastic scattering, the average value of the cosine of the angle of elastic scattering of neutrons, and transport cross sections are calculated by the data of angular distributions. Corrections for the decrease of the detector sensitivity to neutron; scattered by an angle THETA and to multiple scattering neutrons in the sample were introduced into the calculated values of the differential sections of elastically scattered neutrons.
