AGS BEAM INTENSITY MEASURING SYSTEMS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4065433
A beam-inteneity measuring system is described in which bunches of protons are detected by pick-up electrodes, generating a signal that is summed and sent to an amplifier where the fundamental frequency component of the bunches is extracted and amplified. The fundamental frequency components are fed to a peak detector that produces a d-c voltage proportional to the amplitude of the component. The voltage is fed to a digital voltmeter that reads the intensity directly to an accuracy of 0.5%. (B.O.G.)
