The present utilization of nuclear power for naval and marine propulsion is reviewed. The military program of face vessels and the program of other countries are first discussed. Merchant vessels are described with a consideration of the Savannah and the Lenin. In conclusion, future plans for nuclear-powered merchant ships are indicated. (J.S.R.)
