The choice of materials for the Sodium Reactor Experiment (SRE), Hallam Nuclear Power Facility (HNPF), and advanced Sodium Graphite Reactor (ASGR) are described, and specific technical areas that required consideration for these applications are discussed in detail. A chromatographic analysis of gases over liquid sodium was investigated is a means of monitoring the impurities carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, xenon, and krypton. In addition to the detection of impurities, an effort was made to relate the gas composition to the carburizing potential in the liquid sodium. (P.C.H.)
