MEASUREMENT OF THE PARAMETERS P AND D IN p-p SCATTERING AT 138 Mev (in French)

Journal Article · · Journal de Physique (Paris) See J. Phys. (Orsay, Fr.)
Polarized protons from the Orsay synchrocyclotron (E = 138 Mev; P/sub 1/ = 0.44) are scattered in a liquid hydrogen target in the angular range theta / sub 2/ = 12 to 100 deg (cm) and the value of P/sub 2/ deduced from experimental asymmetries. The polarization component normal to the second scattering plane is then observed by subsequent horizontal scattering on a plastic scintillator, the left-right asymmetries giving the depolarization parameters D at four angles. Results at large angles are in agreement with the so-called YLAM solution. (auth)
