DETERMINATION OF THE INELASTIC COLLISION CROSS SECTION OF BERYLLIUM AT 14.2 Mev (in French)

The nonelastic cross section of beryllium for 14.2-Mev neutrons has been measured using the sphere transmission technique. Corrections have been applied to the data, principally for multiple scattering and energy loss of neutrons in elastic collisions. The result is sigma /sub ne/ = 0.50 plus or minus 0.01 barn. (auth)
