APPLICATION OF THE FOLDY-WOUTHUYSEN TRANSFORMATION TO SOME CASES OF INTERACTIONS BETWEEN ELECTRON AND ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD (in French)

A general expression to the 4th approximation (l/m)/sup 4/ for the Dirac Hamiltonian without odd matrices is given, using the Foldy-Wouthuysen method. The interaction is then discussed in the following three cases: a) static magnetic field; b) static electric field; and c) electromagnetic field varying with time and satisfying Maxwell-Lorentz equations. The physical interpretation of the different terms obtained from the final result is also discussed. (auth)
