ON THE OPTICAL MODEL FOR THE NUCLEON-NUCLEUS SCATTERING

BS>The real and imaginary part of the medium and high energy potential for nucleon-nucleus scattering is calculated for an infinite nuclear medium, using phenomenological nucleon-nucleon phase shifts. For the S wave contribution, the exact solution of the equation for the nucleon-nucleon scattering is used for the separable nucleon-nucleon interaction. In calculation of the 1>0 contribution to the imaginary part of the optical potential, the Goldberger method is applied. The results are compared with experiment. (auth)
