Study of some Ln$sub 2$Ge$sub 2$$O$$sub 7$ compounds (Ln = La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd)

Some Ln$sub 2$Ge$sub 2$$O$$sub 7$ compouds (Ln = La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd) have been reinvestigated. A preliminary crystallographic study shows that the compounds Nd$sub 2$Ge$sub 2$$O$$sub 7$ and Sm$sub 2$Ge$sub 2$$O$$sub 7$ belong to a new structural family. Tetragonal form has also been found for Gd$sub 2$Ge$sub 2$$O$$sub 7$ below 1250$sup 0$C. (auth)
