A New General Alarm System; UN NOUVEAU SYSTEME D'ALARME GENERAL

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4054556

The general alarm system at CERN which can be used for very simple control systems with only one lock and for very complex equipment such as the high-frequency system with chains of 22 locks is described. The principles of the system are given and illustrated. Each surveflIance contact is joined to an alarm unlt containing the lock circuit and signaling the contact state. The chain thus formed ends in an output unit, which signals if the sequence is complete and controls the complete relay sequence permitting equipment engaging. A common alarm block furnishes intermittent voltage for blinking the location lights on the control panel. Detailed circuits of each element are given. (J.S.R.)
