THE SEPARATION OF PLUTONIUM FROM URANIUM AND FISSION PRODUCTS ON ZIRCONIUM PHOSPHATE COLUMNS

Journal Article · · J. Chromatog.

A procedure for the separation of plutonium from uranium and long-lived fission products on zirconium phosphate columns is described. Traces of plutonium are separated from nitric acid solutions containing a few grams per liter uranium. Data such as the distribution coefficients, plutonium recovery, and decontamination factors are presented. (auth) cases at higher temperatures. However, there seems to be no definite advantage in working at any specific or at a rigidly controlled temperature. Data are thbulated. (P.C.H.)
