Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/4052559· OSTI ID:4052559
A review of some of the major contributions of dislocation concepts to the understanding of plastic wave phenomena is presented. Von Karman and Taylor theory for plastic wave propagation, dislocations and shocks in strains, behavior of a Suzuki locked alloy, Peierls process, and thermally activated intersections are discussed.
