Solitonlike solutions for a Higgs scalar field

The interaction of two solitons is investigated in a two-dimensional classical scalar-field theory described by the Landau-Ginzburg equation. It is shown that a new solution (a double soliton) is formed and that the solution is self-localized, weakly oscillating, and weakly damped. (AIP)
