NEW LEVELS IN Sc$sup 49$ FROM RADIATIVE CAPTURE OF PROTONS IN Ca$sup 4$$sup 8$

Nuclear energy levels in the f/sub 7/2/-shell of /sup 49/Sc were studied by (p, gamma ) reactions with /sup 48/Ca. 66 resonances were found in the range E/sub p/ = 800 to 1400 kev. Evidence for low energy levels in /sup 49/Sc at 2.22, 2.34, 3.10, 3.50, and 3.93 Mev was obtained from the gamma-ray single, coincidence, and sum coincidence spectra. (R.E.U.)
