EFFECT OF X-RAYS ON DYE SOLUTION

Journal Article · · Kitakanko Igaku
OSTI ID:4041484
Dye solutions such as triphenyl-methane, azo, anthraquinone, cyanine, thilasin, and nitro groups were exposed to x rays. The color of the aqueous and chloroform chloroform solution of these dyes faded or changed after the irradiation. THe chloroform solutions were more sensitive than the aqueous solutions. This may be attributed to the indirect action of the C1 atom produced from the chloroform. Cyanine and aminoazobenzene dyes which were very sensitive to irradiation may be of use for chemical determination of low radiation doses. (Abstr.Japan.Med.,1: No. 1, 1960)
