Inclusive strange-particle production by vp interactions in the 10--200-GeV region

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. Lett., v. 36, no. 3, pp. 127-129
OSTI ID:4041339
Data are presented on charged-current inclusive strange-particle production in 10--200-GeV/c vp interactions. Final states with V$sup 0$ decay topologies are reported: K/subs/$sup 0$, $lambda$$sup 0$$($$Sigma$$sup 0$), Lambda- bar$sup 0$(Sigma-bar$sup 0$). Neutrino energy, charged multiplicity, Q$sup 2$, W, x, and y distributions are shown. The corrected relative V$sup 0$ production rate is 0.16+-0.03 per event. The first example of neutrino-induced antibaryon (Lambda-bar) production is observed. The 90%-confidence upper limit on $delta$S=- $delta$Q inclusive $lambda$ production is 0.036 of all charged-current vp interactions above 10 GeV/c. (AIP)
