First Measurement of the {ital B}{r_arrow}{pi}{ital l}{nu} and {ital B}{r_arrow}{rho}({omega}){ital l}{nu} Branching Fractions
CLEO has studied {ital B} decays to {pi}l{nu}, {rho}l{nu}, and {omega}l{nu}, where l={ital e} or {mu}, by incorporating the missing momentum into full {ital B} reconstruction. With the {ital B}{sup 0} and {ital B}{sup +} modes combined according to isospin predictions for the relative partial widths, we obtain {ital B}({ital B}{sup 0}{r_arrow}{pi}{sup {minus}}l{sup +}{nu})=(1.8{plus_minus}0.4{plus_minus}0.3{plus_minus}0.2){times}10{sup {minus}4} and {ital B}({ital B}{sup 0}{r_arrow}{rho}{sup {minus}}l{sup +}{nu})=(2.5{plus_minus}0.4{sub {minus}0.7}{sup +0.5}{plus_minus}0.5){times}10{sup {minus}4}, where the errors are statistical, systematic, and the estimated model dependence. We also estimate {vert_bar}{ital V}{sub {ital ub}}{vert_bar}=(3.3{plus_minus}0.2{sub {minus}0.4}{sup +0.3}{plus_minus}0.7){times}10{sup {minus}3}. {copyright} {ital 1996 The American Physical Society.}
