A possible optical identification for PSR 0833--45

Journal Article · · Astrophys. J., v. 203, no. 1, pp. 193-195
DOI:https://doi.org/10.1086/154064· OSTI ID:4037052
Deep photographs show a blue star with magnitude approx.23.7 about 1/sup double-prime/./sub /8 from the Molonglo position for PSR 0833--45. This star does not pulsate like the Crab optical pulsar, but a change association with a field star is unlikely on the basis of color and star-counts. Most likely the object is physically with the pulsar. (AIP)
