Proposed fatigue provisions in the new ISO code for offshore structures

The development of the new ISO code for offshore structures, ISO 13819-2, Petroleum and Natural Gas Industries--Offshore Structures, Part 2: Fixed Steel Structures, has been in progress for almost three years and the first draft issue is nearing completion. The new code is based on the API RP2A LRFD specification, but also contains significant enhancements. This paper presents the current status of the proposed fatigue provisions of the new ISO code and relevant background information and areas requiring further consideration are identified.
