The values of the solubility products of some oxides in molten LiCl-KCl eutectic are given. After a discussion of the probable forms in which the different oxidation states of V exist, the constants are given for some complexes and for the O/sup 2-/ ion measured semi-quantitatively. These made it possible to establish the theoretical diagram (E,pO/sup 2-/) for the oxydo-reduction system V/sup 4+//V/sup 5+/. Chemical reactions illustrate the predictions possible from a knowledge of the diagram and the constants given. (auth)
