SEISMIC WAVES FROM AN UNDERGROUND NUCLEAR EXPLOSION UNDER A DESERT VALLEY

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4035005
Results are reported of a comprehensive study of basic seismic data from the MISSISSIPPI event at the Nevada Test Site. The event was accompanied by several collapses, and the seismic data are from stations in and outside U.S. Magnitudes, travel times, amplitudes, and other parameters are tabulated and plotted. Results of epicenter computations are given, and the nature of the collapses is discussed. (D.L.C.)
