Deuteron-carbon elastic scattering at 650 MeV

The Glauber theory of nucleus-nucleus scattering is used to calculate the elastic differential cross section for the scattering of deuterons off carbon nuclei using two-particle scattering data as input. Qualitatively better agreement is obtained with the experimental measurements of Dutton et al. than their calculations using proton-carbon optical potentials.
