BS>A high-resolution differential Cerenkov counter is described which has a velocity selection range of 0.98 < beta < 1, has a counting efficiency of 90%, and is capable of distingidshing K mesons from pi mesons at momenta as high as 20 Bev/c for a velocity difference DELTA beta of 2.8 x 10/sup -4/. The anticoincidence feature and resolution of the counter are discussed. The performance of the counter with various beams in the Alternsting Gradient Synchrontron is described. (D.J.C.)
